Vision statement
Skiers & snowboarders with a disability should be able to ski alongside the able bodied as equals at all ski facilities and resorts.
Mission statement
To promote equality and opportunity for people with disabilities to take part in snowsports and to help improve their enjoyment and standard of performance at the level of their choice.
At the heart of our plans is our desire to increase opportunities, fitness, mobility, freedom, social interaction, independence and skill of people with disabilities, and to identify and nurture the abilities of young potential athletes. A disabled person chooses both freedom and independence when they snap into bindings or transfer from a wheelchair to sit ski. They also make a choice to actively access adventure, a choice that is made possible by the work of Disability Snowsport uk, in spite of chronic health problems and physical and/or learning disabilities.
Snowsports provide disabled people with a method to conquer the barriers that confront them in daily life.
We seek to help individuals or groups to improve their quality of life and transfer the benefits gained from taking part in Snowsport into their everyday life. Each week we witness how our work helps physical and cognitive development, as well as improving social and emotional skills.
Adaptive skiing is a caring, therapeutic experience between individuals who enjoy adventure. It is lived, breathed, felt and experienced and you can help us continue our work.
As a member you will receive regular updates on whats going on in our various sites across the UK, how you can get involved in your local area and learn how your membership can make a difference to so many people.
Click here to download a membership form and a standing order form if you wish to pay membership by standing order. Membership runs annually from September 1st until August 31st.
